Vermont’s Best Spots to Get Married – The Ponds at Bolton Valley

The great thing about Vermont weddings is that they are beautiful no matter the season, especially when held at the remarkable venue we’re featuring today. The Ponds at Bolton Valley offers panoramic views with rolling mountains in the distance, plus a spring fed pond and a sprawling deck overlooking it all.

The post and beam building is rustic and gorgeous, with a stunning great room, big enough for over 300 guests!  A river stone fireplace brings the outdoors in, and the beauty of natural wood is present throughout the elegant seating room.

The Ponds is on site at Bolton Valley, a four-season resort offering all sorts of outdoor recreation.  It’s a great idea to incorporate skiing, snowboarding, hiking or any number of activities that guests can participate in, turning your wedding into a full weekend of fun in any season!

Vermont’s Best Spots to Get Married – The Farm on Mad River

There are SO many wonderful outdoor locations to get married in Vermont-and all of New England, really.  Every so often, I’ll share one of them with all of you for a glimpse at the many swoonworthy places to tie the knot!

As promised, the first fabulous location that we’ll feature is none other than The Farm on Mad River in Waitsfield, VT!

The Farm on Mad River was, of course, the venue for my wedding back in ’07.  It’s a quaint little bed & breakfast situated along a bend in the Mad River.  Fieldstone walls and beautiful rolling lawns provide a simple, off-the-beaten-path backdrop, perfect for photos!

With five cozy rooms, the nineteenth century farmhouse B&B was just the right size for my closest family and friends. And, they even offered camping for those who wanted to sleep out under the stars!  Or, under a tent, anyway!  Separate properties were available for rent and we took full advantage of all they had to offer, so my guests felt right at home.

The rates were reasonable, and the innkeepers were incredibly open to our wishes.  We were free to choose our own catering and other services, but the innkeepers were there if we ever needed anything.  They truly made our day a one-of-a-kind event. Just as they say on their website, when it came time, we found it hard to leave!

Below are a few shots from my own wedding – the pictures alone cannot show how beautiful this property really is!
