Rustic Country Wedding in Down East Maine

Sam and Sasha own and run an organic farm on the coast of Down East Maine. When planning their rustic, farm themed wedding this past summer, they knew their environmentally conscious way of life should carry through to their wedding and also into their wedding invitation suite.   In keeping with this theme, all five pieces of the suite were made from recycled paper in a subtle shade of blue.

Letterpress printing, relief printing of text and images using a press, added another level of sophistication and tactile interest to the suite.

Included in the suite were the invitation, RSVP card, RSVP envelope, accommodation/information card and rehearsal dinner invitation.   The RSVP card included options for replying to the wedding, reception and a nice brunch the next morning.

Keeping the entire suite together was a jacket fold, which is a super fun way to keep all the pieces organized.  On front of the jacket fold was a complete map of Mount Desert Island where the festivities would take place.

When it came to the invitation design (the most important piece of the suite in our opinion), Sasha knew what she wanted.  Incorporating farm elements and conveying the feeling of a relaxed affair were important to her.  The graphic of a rooster, and a bicycle casually leaning on a fence seemed to evoke the free-spirited, yet elegant event that was to come.

For continuity, the rooster element was carried through to a number of other pieces of the celebration.  He made an appearance on Sasha’s shower invitation, and also the dinner menu that was printed on paper that can be planted to grow wildflowers.  A chalk artist also recreated the rooster on a large black board letting guests know where they should sit.

Sam and Sasha’s wedding was a wonderful success.  You can see more photos (Courtesy of Michelle Turner Photography) of the vibrant affair on Style Me Pretty (A favorite blog of ours!).

Excuse #1…

One of my most recent distractions has been this little dude… Owen Michael … the closest thing I’ll have to a little itty bitty nephew for the time being. It has been AMAZING to spend so much time with this man and his momma (Peak Creative’s PR Maven) while I have had some extended time off from work. Tonight I had more spit up spewed across my shirt than I thought possible for an 11 week old to produce. He also gives new meaning to the mustard poo… but boy I tell you, the smiles that he has produced for me alone (and I’m sure his proud mama and papa too) have been innumerable. It has been an amazing experience seeing Mom and Dad go through the whole process from the first ultra sound to his first smile.

Look at that face!!

Two Peas in a Pod

Our specialty may be wedding invitations, but we also love creating invites for baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and more!
Today, I’m sharing a baby shower invite that was a blast to create.  It’s almost cute overload! Of course, this image is playing off of the saying  ”two peas in a pod,” ideal for twins!  A clever rhyme sets the mood for an intimate baby shower welcoming not one, but two bundles of joy.
Are you planning an upcoming shower, party or event?  Let us work our magic on your custom invite!

An Affair to Remember…

On Saturday, November 7th, Peak Creative was lucky enough to exhibit in The Vermont Vows Wedding Affair.  This sophisticated wedding show  gathers the best of Vermont’s wedding professionals in one beautiful location, Shelburne Farms.

Several hundred brides were let loose among the glitz, the glitter and the cupcake towers to get inspiration from the best of the best.
Situated between Irene’s Cake Designs, and Occasions Catering, a fabulous local caterer, Peak Creative had a very successful day!  We met a number of blushing brides, eager to get the invitation suite design process underway.
Our biggest hits were custom pocketfold invites like the “Amanda” set, our signature design “Love Tweet Love” and also the “Shannon”. We’ve been super busy since the show meeting back up with interested brides!
This event was definitely one NOT to be missed. We look forward to working with our fellow VT Vendors through the upcoming wedding season and already can’t wait until next year’s Wedding Affair!

DIY Weddings from Martha Stewart

When it came to my own wedding I was a 100% DYI bride (and with it took on another full time job of wedding planning!). I wish Martha Stewart Weddings had been then what it is now! You can find ideas and inspiration on everything from stationery and paper lanterns to floral monogrammed banners and decorative paper place mats on their fabulous site.

Martha gives everyone free access to all of her templates! (.. well maybe Martha doesn’t come up with ALL of them… but I’m sure some!)

The Holidays, They are a Comin’!

As the days get colder, we start to think about the upcoming holiday season; a time to reach out to family and friends.  One of the best ways to do this (the old fashioned way) is through personalized holiday cards.

Here at Peak, we’re excited to offer an array of seasonal designs with options for photos, seasonal graphics, fun fonts and much more!   Take a look at our many offerings through Carlson Craft.

If you don’t see exactly what you want, we’ll design something especially for you!

P.S. – Holiday cards in general are a great way to send thanks to guests who attended your wedding or also slip in a little save the date reminder!

A Personal Favorite…

One of our most popular invitations out of our signature line is our *custom* Love, Tweet Love set. This design is definitely my personal favorite – a simple, yet powerful illustration. We create all of our illustrations here at Peak and put together our own “recipes” – fonts, colors, paper choice and layout. We take pride in offering a FULLY CUSTOM line of invitations to help make every couples’s day their own!

Love-Tweet-Love

Any design we offer can also be ordered as note cards, note pads or anything your little heart desires really!

Picture Perfect Skyline

Boston Skyline

A Boston couple came to us recently for a custom wedding invitation.  They truly are city folk and wanted to incorporate the picturesque Boston skyline above in their wedding invitations.   We got to work recreating the lines of the city, from the exact viewpoint where they would take their vows.   The result is a simple, yet elegant invitation and RSVP card; a perfect fit for an evening wedding at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, MA.
